The Dream team
New Head Boy
Most people would be interested to find out who the new or now “current” Head Boy is, well here I am. My name is Alex Sowter and I have been selected the role for this, something which I am very excited to starting and really getting my teeth sunk into.
Last year I was a digital prefect where we worked closely with the LRC and various I.T projects throughout the campus. Since then I wanted something a little more challenging.
One of the key goals I would like to achieve is to improve the current prefect system that is in place, as I still feel like there is a lot more that could be achieved from this group. We are currently in the stages of finalising the “new prefect” system and should be in place for the start of the new Year 12’s.
Originally I was not very interested in the role, I saw the challenge as being too large, but as time progressed I really began an interest in wanting to make a difference, as well as to show what Noel-Baker is really made of!

New Head Girl
Hello, my name is Danielle Sheehan and I’m the newly elected Head Girl. The past year I have been very involved in the prefect system as a Community Prefect. I have helped organise charity events such as the Children in Need Heroes VS Villains fancy dress, The Christmas Fare that raised money for Footprints Orphanage in Kenya, a food drive for The Padley centre and collected enough food to fill the prefect office! Also, the Sue Wiseman Memorial Mile, which raised money for Cancer research in the name of our sadly departed Mrs Wiseman.
My main goal this year is to bring a strong sense of community to Noel-Baker. I feel that as a school we should come to together more, whether that is inter-house sports or cake sales, we are a community and I really want make that stronger.
I also want to encourage more students from each year to join the School Council and as many Sixth form students as possible to join the prefect system, as there are great opportunity’s to voice your opinions and to make a positive contribution to the school. I feel it is very important for each student to have a say in how our school is run.
I am excited to achieve many things this year with Alex, Holly, Jack and the prefects in order to make a positive change to the school and to build greater enthusiasm within the school community.

New Deputy Head Girl
My name is Holly Cygan, starting in September 2014 I will be the Deputy Head-Girl. Last year I was lucky enough to be a Sports prefect, my role included finding new adventurous sport activities for the school, organising fun events and helping to promote sport. I and the sport ambassadors organised Sports Relief, this was a great success thanks to all the hard work that was put in. I enter the school into a programme called ‘Make a change’ which is a lottery funded programme that aims for school to promote sports and healthy living. This again has been a great success; hopefully in the near future we shall be having Olympians visit our school. My time has sports prefect has been great, I have enjoyed every minute of it.
As deputy, I intend to help with the school council, and I aim to bring the Sixth Form community closer with the School as I feel they should be closer. I want to bring more exciting opportunities into the school. I have ideas to improve the Prefect system which I will talk to my fellow nominees about. Overall I can’t wait to get started on making a positive impact in the school.

New Deputy Head Boy
Right hello, as you may or may not know my names Jack and through some sort of miracle I’m your new Deputy Head Boy. I’m pretty hyped to get started with it and really see what I can do and help the school with.
Last year along with our new Head Boy I was a digital prefect where we helped with the things such as the e-mag or the student blog. This year I’m looking to do a lot more.
My plan for upcoming year is pretty simple but I feel it’s an important part of school and that’s our sense of community. I feel that as a school we need to come together a lot more and work on various things together. I have a multitude of ideas on how to do this and with only one major guideline, make it fun.
I’m glad I’ve got the opportunity to be the Deputy Head Boy and I intend to do as much as possible with it.

Ambassador groups
The Ambassador groups are a new dynamic force at Noel-Baker, driving key areas of the school forward. The groups are organised by key members of staff from across the school but are led by the students themselves. The key aim of all these groups is to improve the experience and daily life of all students at Noel-Baker. The students involved are engaged in a wide range of fun activities and are assisted by Senior Prefects on a daily basis. Some of these students are already making a massive difference to the school and their successes are evident around school.
There are currently 5 key Ambassador groups but we hope to grow more over time, these can be seen below:
If you would like to get involved in any of these groups, please contact the member of staff identified or speak to the prefects that are involved.
You will also be able to find out more about each of these groups from their individual pages and websites.
